Database Administrator for PostgreSQL Databases

Freising, Bayern or remote | fulltime

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (m/f/d) with a focus on PostgreSQL databases.

You can expect a modern and constantly evolving IT infrastructure, consisting of Linux servers (Ubuntu), VMware ESXi and vSphere, Puppet, GitHub Enterprise, Docker, Kubernetes, and much more.

Your tasks include

Performance optimization and tuning of our PostgreSQL databases according to requirements, in close coordination with the development teams
Analyzing and troubleshooting database issues to ensure high availability and stability
Proactively monitoring and identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing optimization measures
Further development and improvement of the existing PostgreSQL database environment
Implementing and maintaining backup and recovery processes in complex replication environments

What you bring

A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification (e.g., IT specialist)
Several years of experience in the administration and performance optimization of PostgreSQL databases, especially in tuning and troubleshooting
Very good knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, replication technologies, and high availability solutions
Understanding of the specific requirements of enterprise applications and their impact on database performance
Strong Linux knowledge, particularly in Ubuntu, as well as experience with the configuration management tool Puppet
Independent and structured working style, and enjoyment of solving complex technical challenges
Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
German level C1
